Misc.........................

The last few weeks I have been to a funeral out of town, been a little under the weather and helped cook two different events . Busy, but my work has piled up and some opportunities have been lost.

I would of done all the things above in spite of the costs. The getting sick had no real choice to it . I let the squeaky wheel dominate my decisions of time management . Not the important !

So this Monday morning back to the "to do list" ,prioritized by the value they bring to my business and my families life. The events, the funeral trip and the health issues were all NUMBER ONES.
Where I fell down was the two and threes . I let the 5's and 1001's take their place.

Watching daytime tv for more than 30 minutes is a 1001 in my mind.

I my case researching a internet business strategy was a five ( needed ) but not a TWO.

Two's are activities that put money in the bank.
Three's are activities that put you in a Very Short Term position to money in the bank
A quick example: Buying a book is a three
Listing a book for sale is a two. If I have no books , that usually does not happen ,but when it does, buying books become twos. Shipping a book is a two, It is the last step of earning money from the sale.

There are gray areas ,but this is at least a system to urge me into correct action. It is needed and is of great value.

This blog for me today was a ONE.

thanks, bob

No book games for me today . DW and I are off for a day long church picnic.

I think I will pass the rock wall and the ropes course and just see how my spades game is.

OF course I am on the cooking crew. HARD work but FUN

Good scouting for all.

bookblogery Steals and Deals

Steals and Deals
Last summer I stopped at a yard sale on a busy street at 11:00 am on a Saturday morning. As I was walking up to the yard a lady was leaving with four or five books . I asked her how much were the books. She responded 10 cents each. I saw a table with books on it and found a Mr. Wizard book in total I picked up 8 books "The Steals" . I went inside and they had some cook books for $5.00 each. Seeing no sure winners , I went out side and looked some more and bought a "something I had to have" for a quarter. Total expense $1.15

* This is important *

I took the books home with a few other I had bought that day. * I researched them first on Amazon, then addall ,then ebay completed sales.

The Mr. Wizzard book sold on Amazon in about a month for about $12.00

A few others were listed and if I remember right one other sold for 6 or 7 dollars. the others were put into dealer lots or donated.

Now the Deal
One of the books was a book about night life in New York City written about 1929 or 30. It had well worn dust jacket that covered a very nice art deco designed cover. I found none on Amazon or ebay. addall had two listed ; one without a jacket listed for sale at 300 plus dollars and one with a worn jacket for over 600 dollars.

I took a quick nickel and sold it on ebay for $250.00

ebay is usually wholesale , thats ok

I think it might of sold on a fixed price site for more but it might not of.

Its summer stop at a yard sale if you have time and if the books are cheap buy a few and research them ,,its fun when its a steal and a deal.
